Optical Fiber Amplifier
Optical amplifiers are used in optical communication network systems. The function of the optical amplifier is to restore the signal power level, which attenuates along the length of its propagation. Optical amplifiers include the SOA, EDFA and Raman Amplifiers.
The works on RE-doped all optical fiber amplifiers focus on achieving higher optical gain, lower amplifier noise and flatter gain spectrum across short (S), conventional (C) and long (L) band regions of the communication system.
