Glass Ceramic

The group works on sol gel processing of glass-ceramics and metal oxides thin films and nano-particles with active doping materials. Glass-ceramic materials share the properties of both glasses and ceramics. The materials used include SiO2, ZrO2, TiO2 doped with Er, Yb, Eu, and Rb for applications as EDWA, sensor, and naturally activated cleansing medium. The mixtures and thin films are processed in a controlled environment.
